Description

Update April 4, 2013: FINALLY news on this thing!
These Avatars have official names!
The water Avatar is Uruqua;
The fire Avatar is Lady Imira;
and the air Avatar is Enyang.

I've also added more to their backstories, including fully developing Uruqua's history. I want to share the new stories with you, but I'm not sure if I should add a new Deviation or put it here....

Updated August 14th...

Okay, I'm using a working keyboard, and I've finished two more past lives.
...I'm sorry, I can't help it. I'm seriously so happy I did this piece, and for some reason, I'm especially in love with the Earth Avatar. I wanted to make a pic of Avatar Seiko's past incarnations. I'd already created her very last life, the tyrant from the Northern Water Tribe, Avatar Bahnuk. But she needed more of a history, so I drew up an Avatar from the Eastern Air Temple and an Avatar from the outskirts of the Fire Nation. Once I did them, I just really wanted to put in the last Earth Avatar before Seiko. Avatar Fong was created, and then I thought, What the hell, might as well throw in a Water Avatar and finish the cycle, so I created another Avatar from the Northern Water Tribe. Heh, sorry, just wanted to give you the little background there. Speaking of backgrounds, I actually have background stories for some of the Avatars, though the stories aren't anywhere near fully developed yet. I'll give you what I have...

Before I get started, I only have two of the past Avatars named. The others are not named, though I have some possibilities, some real, some created, some a combination. I need name suggestions, please!
I'm playing with the idea of naming the airbender Tenkuu, something with an en sound interrupted by a harsh consonant sound; the waterbender Nanami; the earthbender is definitely Fong; the firebender, the only thing I can think of to do is reuse my OC name Imira, who was the Fire Nation-born new wife of Hakoda in my ATLA fanfiction [if you want, see Chapter Nine: Rising Storm pts 1 & 2]. Hmm...Avatar Seiko, Avatar Bahnuk, Avatar Tenkuu, Avatar Imira, Avatar Fong, Avatar Nanami. Umm...input? Okay, on with the character histories!...

~Bahnuk is a bad Avatar. Not evil, really, but...hmm, I really dunno. I think he just got drunk with power, you know? He was late in finding out that he was the Avatar. The Northern Water Tribe's Council of Three told him when he was in his late twenties. By this time, Bahnuk had a wife and daughter. He was reluctant to leave them behind, and put off pursuing his destiny for as long as he could. The Council of Three kept insisting. The pressure became too much, and finally Bahnuk gave in. He left his family and started his long journey to master the elements that would last for many years. When he started his firebending training, that's when Avatar Bahnuk changed. It's not known what changed him, but something clicked in him when he was training in his natural opposite. Bahnuk observed how fire spread its wrath on anything it came in contact with. Whatever forces that opposed the flame would be swallowed, and that fascinated and inspired him. As enchanted as he was with the art, Bahnuk found it very difficult to master firebending, and he was overjoyed when he finally did. Like I said, I don't know why, but Bahnuk's mastering firebending is what unlocked in him the urge to dominate, like fire does.
Banuk's worldwide terror was quite short-lived—he met an early end when he fell into the Great Divide—but his impact was incredibly powerful, and he still has several small ally groups spread throughout the world, including the Black Wolf Tribe in the North Pole.
Oh, yeah, and a pretty important detail that I kept forgetting to tell you about: Bahnuk's half-blind. I had to reverse his image to get it to fit in with the rest of this thing, but he was struck on the right side of his face and blinded in his right eye. It's not known exactly what caused this injury. Some say it was done when he was first getting acquainted with his animal guide; some say it was a battle injury; others say the scar was caused by a family member.

~Before Avatar Bahnuk is a young man from the Eastern Air Temple. I have no idea what his name is, nor do I really have anything set for a background on him. The most I have is that he might be an airbending teacher, maybe he was in the middle of teaching a class when the High Monks [or, you know, some name for the highest officials in the Air Nomad race] came to him and announced that he was the Avatar.
This Avatar is benevolent, gentle, warm, loyal, protective, responsible, serious and determined. There weren't many threats in the world at his time, so once he mastered the elements, he settled back in the Eastern Air Temple and resumed teaching for a short time. There soon was an invasion. He and other airbenders managed to fend off the intruders. He later created an “airbending army” called the Eastern Guardians to protect the Eastern Air Temple.

~Before him, there was a young woman who lived with her single mother and blind younger sister on the outskirts of the Fire Nation. The Fire Sages came to her home when she was fifteen. She and her family were stunned to hear the news: this daughter of a poor family was the Master of Elements. She didn't know what to make of the news. She couldn't even firebend, let alone bend any other element. The Fire Sages told her that, soon, she needed to leave her family to live with a designated official whose job it was to oversee her education and training. She was devastated at the thought of leaving her mother and blind sister behind, but eventually she had to. I don't have anything else to her story.

~Then there is the earth Avatar before Seiko, named Fong. He was a playful, light-hearted, energetic, ladies'-man Avatar, and very different from most other earthbenders. Fong hailed from Omashu, and was the middle son of a successful merchant. He had an older brother, younger brother, and two younger sisters, twins. Fong had a prankster, fun-loving spirit but was stuck in a serious, down-to-earth family. For most of his life, he longed to break free of his family, and finally got the chance when he was eighteen and the Omashu top general came to him with the news. Fong was disappointed that Avatar training was not as fun as he thought it would be; nevertheless, he loved learning how to bend the other elements, and learned to take his Avatar responsibilities very seriously. As Avatar Fong grew older, he still retained the light-hearted, almost childlike personality, but learned how to handle his responsibilities to his nation and to the world, and became one of the greatest Avatars in history. When he was in his early thirties, he renounced his ladies'-man ways and took a wife. Shortly after, he [with his wife] was called to Ba Sing Se as the Earth King's personal guardian. Later a son was born, named Bei Fong [the origin of the Bei Fong family].

~Preceding Avatar Fong was a woman from the Northern Water Tribe. There isn't much to say about her; I don't have anything developed, but when I do come up with something, I'll write it into this summary.

...

What do you guys think?

c- me
except the elements "Avatar", "firebender", "waterbender", "airbender", and "earthbender" belong to Nickelodeon.

Enjoy!

Enjoy!
